We have hundreds of games and activities that match the content taught in the textbooks. These games give the students a reason to speak.

The online support material allows students to continue their study at home, on a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Each week, the students will complete a set of pages. The left side explains the grammar in Japanese with examples in English. The right side has the writing homework.

In the lesson, the students are forced to speak and use the target grammar structure by playing one of the fun and unique games.

At home, the students can watch the support videos that explain the lesson point as well as fun challenges to build their vocabulary.

Students can read the funny stories about the alien family to see how the grammar is used in real life situations.

Each book has a ‘WORD CLOUD’ section. Each year, students will learn hundreds of new words and catch phrases.

The textbook also contains PHONICS writing homework. Each year these become more challenging.

Unique to our books, are the color-coded words, that help students identify the different types of words; verbs, nouns, adjectives. etc. We call this, ‘The World of Words.’

We begin each year with a review of the ‘World of Words’ to ensure that, both new and old, students are familiar with the building blocks of the English language.

Students are encouraged to use the Online Support material to practice and test themselves on their knowledge of the ‘World of Words’. If they succeed, they can receive a stamp on their Progress Page.

All People teachers undergo training when they join our schools. Ongoing training sessions several times a year.

With detailed manuals, teaching methods and Online-Support, we can assure consistency across the classrooms.

Our curriculum is designed in Japan for Japanese students. Our goal is to have students excelling in their future English lives.

More about the textbooks!

Our textbooks have some unique features. We have put a lot of thought into making this curriculum and have tried to address many of the challenges that Eikawa schools face.  Students have different abilities, some have started at an early age, some start later, some can read and some can’t. blash to make a fun and effective experience for all.

As we believe that it is important that young learners have a thorough understanding of the basics of English grammar before moving forward, Yellow Book 1 and Orange Book 2 teach the concepts of the World of Words.

Below is a basic index of the contents of book 1 & 2. There are 8 units to complete in the year. Each UNIT takes about 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Other time is spent reviewing previous material to aid memory retention.

The CORE BASIC concepts, taught in the first 2 books is included into the front of the other books. We spend the opening weeks of the year reviewing this CORE BASIC material. New students can use the Online support material to help catch up.  Experienced students get a chance to confirm their knowledge, building fluency. The material becomes more challenging with each year, while building on concepts taught in previous years.

The texbooks are made up of many parts. First, we review the CORE BASIC material before moving onto the new UNITS. The PHONICS writing pages are in the middle and the WORD CLOUD challenges are in the back.
